Monsoonal weather!

For those of you who have slight pangs of jealousy about where we are, if it helps at all, please know that today it was raining and the wind was blowing like you wouldn't believe. And being in 'a shed on stilts' as Tim so eloquently put it, it shakes, rocks and rolls as the waves crash and the wind blows. But it still doesn't take away from the sheer beauty of the place. Let's face it, if you were room bound anywhere in the world, here is not a bad option! Besides, now we're at the dining table drinking a NZ White so please resume jealousy :-)

It's the Monsoon season here but thankfully it seems to be calming down. Last night in bed we swore the place was going to blow away but we are still here, in the shed, on the stilts, barely clinging onto civilisation! Sadly the dolphin cruise was cancelled due to weather so wine will have to suffice!

It's amazing that even with such turbulent weather, the sea still remains the aqua/turquoise blue that I have only seen here and in Zanzibar. I guess that's the test of true paradise! For me it is anyway :-)

Whilst contemplating the day this morning, looking through the floor of the toilet, a huge stingray swam past. Every time we jump off the edge it is always in the back of our minds! Won't stop us jumping though. And the crabs here look like spiders... according to Mindy which freaks her out a bit!

A view of the weather getting better for Chokdee and me on the net.

So for our daily fact: at some point, somewhere in the world, every second of every day, there is a storm. Thunder, lightening, the lot. Therefore it's understandable to remember that way more people get struck by lightening than stung by stingrays. Hence why we stay in doors for a storm, but jump into stingray infested waters at all other opportunities!

A final note to say a huge congrats to Brad and Rach Sim for bringing into the world the very cute Cooper Daniel last night. Congratulations guys!

Cheers,
